Joe Collado

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Joe has been playing percussion for over 30 years. Known mostly for his tasteful and rythmatic playing, Joe credits his schooling from the countless rhumba jams in the streets of New York city and witnessing the greats during the Fania Allstar era. relocating to Miami, Florida to play intercollegiate basketball, he majored in music for two years polishing his skills under master teachers such as Johnny (jc) conga and Hector (pocho) Nescisup. Joe then took his own playing style and skills to another level. sharing the stage with other great percussionists such as Jose "Chepito" areas and Giovanni Hidalgo. His repertoire also includes salsa stars such as Herman Olivera, Henry Fiol and the famed underground Angel Canales Orchestra. Joe is presently playing locally with the Santana Tribute Band and with (S.O.U.L.) the sounds of urban latino, formerly Khadir. You can also spot Joe playing with various known latin, latin-jazz and cover groups all over Miami and south Florida.
